The Wrap Up-

Inexpensive Flower Suggestions For Wintertime!

These are some of the flowers in our area that are affordable and available during the wintertime if you choose to get married this season, or just want to give someone a gift! They are:

Hydrangea* ~ Roses ~ Amaryllis ~ Freesia ~ Carnations* Magnolia* ~ Lilies ~ Mums*
Snowball Chrysanthemums ~ Poinsettias

*faves
Accents to use on these bouquets and possible centerpieces are:
Pine Cones! Eucalyptus, Holly, Berries, Evergreens, Ivy
Wheat, Pomegranate Branches, Ornament Balls and our new favorite: Gypsophila!

If you choose red or burgundy for your wedding colors, using red roses, carnations, calla lilies, and other red flowers in their bouquets with accents of silver, white, and green could work. You can add berries, iridescent, glitter and frosted glass. Be sure to bring along a sample or picture when selecting your flowers. The wrong shades can clash with the bridesmaid’s dresses and bridal gown (gro!)

White is another popular winter color with flower choices including roses, mums, freesias, hellebores, and tulips. White flowers can be used to accent your bouquet of dark flowers as well as lightening up the whole room if your setting is dim. Be careful, white flowers come in different shades from pure white to ivory and even a pinkish white.

My favorite colors for winter; blue and purple flowers combined with gold, metallic silver, and glittery white accessories. There aren’t many flowers in these colors but freesia, iris, statice, and heather would work awesome. That’s why blues or purples are used more as accent colors, such as the ribbons, candles and glasses used to make the arrangements.

Over the weekend, I hosted another bridal expo in Matteson, IL and it was all about blues, purples with gold baby! It was fun and exhausting, and I had a lot of brides into the whole purple flowers with silver accents. I took a lot of pics, Pats posted them below. Thanks for your support! You have fabulous taste!
